Bhavishya Malika ('garland of the future') is a body of prophetic palm-leaf writings in old Odia, attributed to the Panchasakha — five saint-poets of 15th–16th century Odisha who also gave the Odia people their Bhagavata and Ramayana. Rooted in the Jagannath tradition of Puri, the Malika reads history as a moral arc: an age exhausts itself, a junction shakes the world, and dharma returns.
Achyutananda Das — The most prolific of the five; revered as Trikāladarśī — one who perceives past, present and future. Most Malika texts are attributed to him.
Balarama Das — Author of the Odia Jagamohana Ramayana; a minister who left royal service for bhakti.
Jagannatha Das — Author of the Odia Bhagavata, still recited across Odisha's villages.
Yasobanta Das — Known for yogic and prophetic writings within the same circle.
Sisu Ananta Das — The youngest voice of the circle; devotional and esoteric compositions.
The Malika's central frame is that Kali Yuga's dominant phase closes through a turbulent junction period — a sandhi — before a new age of dharma. The junction is described through upheaval in nature and society, not through calendar dates.
The texts describe recognisable signs: decline of truthfulness, breakdown of family bonds, corrupt leadership, unseasonal weather, earthquakes and floods, epidemics, and conflict between nations. These are presented as symptoms of the closing age.
In the Malika tradition the coming avatar is inseparable from Lord Jagannath of Puri: the divine descent that ends the sandhi is expected to manifest through the Jagannath current, restoring dharma and opening a golden age.
Across the Malika corpus the counsel is consistent: hold to truth, take the divine name (nāma-smaraṇa), serve others, live simply, and keep faith through turbulence. The texts frame preparation as inner discipline, not panic.
Specific years for wars, floods or the avatar's appearance that circulate online are MODERN interpretations of the manuscripts. The custodial families and scholars themselves disagree on them. HastKundli presents the tradition; it does not certify any calamity date, and your personal timeline on this platform always comes from your own Vimshottari dasha — never from the Malika.
